pledge #9 move from island nation to global player

"We will use new communications technologies more extensively in order to reduce costs, compete in new markets and compensate for our geographic isolation."

Ireland as global innovator

Finland and Israel didn’t set out to become world-renowned innovators. Finland set out to connect a small population dispersed across a large country. Israel set out to defend its own people. Becoming a global innovator is not about attracting FDI. It starts with meeting a vital indigenous need. In Ireland this should be a world-class healthcare system.

National digital strategy

Upgrade all our INFRASTRUCTURE with a particular focus on BROADBAND we want BROADBAND not BOGBAND!!

To reduce costs and increase competitiveness, the Government should encourage digital best-practice in organisations of all sizes. It should start by doing what the Mayor of New York did and appoint a Chief Digital Officer. This would also help to send out the right signals to other countries about our digital intentions.
